My Story
About Me
My name is Yarizett Breunig. I’m a mother, biochemist, five-time American Ninja Warrior competitor, and ninja athlete from Madison, Wisconsin. As a first-generation Mexican immigrant, I came to the U.S. at age five with a childhood dream of becoming an athlete. Growing up in a low-income household, that dream seemed out of reach. Instead, I focused on education and my passion for opera, eventually graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Biochemistry.
A Life-Altering Moment
In 2009, my life changed forever after a devastating car accident. I suffered a concussion, nine fractures, severe neck and back trauma, and a shattered eye socket that required reconstructive surgery. Facing the fragility of life head-on, I gained a new determination to prioritize my health and well-being, even though the journey ahead would be challenging.
Finding Ninja Warrior
My path to fitness was gradual but led me to the world of Ninja Warrior. This sport became more than just a physical activity—it transformed into a way of life. Ninja Warrior taught me to embrace challenges with fearlessness and resilience, turning obstacles into opportunities for personal growth.
Inspiring Others to Break Boundaries
My mission is to inspire others to break free from limitations and rewrite their own stories. Reinvention has no age limit. With persistence, faith, and self-belief, we all have the power to overcome obstacles and achieve the impossible. I am living proof of this truth.
A Second Chance at Life
I feel incredibly blessed to have been given a second chance to live life fully. Today, I cherish my beautiful family and the privilege of competing on the American Ninja Warrior stage. Being part of this community is an honor, and I’m proud to demonstrate what’s possible when you follow your heart and passion.
